About Apostate Verity

The story

The world of Apostate Verity is ravaged by pestilence and watched over by a sacred Order devoted to the Twin Saints. Verity — the Order's vice-leader and a battle nun — mysteriously vanishes. Amara, the Order's leader, sets out to find her, wrestling with duty, doubt, and the sting of apparent betrayal. The story blends horror with moments of tenderness, and the current demo sits early in this larger tale.

Characters

• Verity — the titular battle nun and former vice-leader of the Order, who wields a long cross-bladed pole-axe. Her disappearance drives the plot.
• Amara — the Order's leader and the character you follow, hunting down her fallen ally.

KitDa Games has described a cast of distinct characters with vivid personalities, with more narrative arriving in future updates.

The combat

Apostate Verity wears its Dark Souls inspiration openly: precise, punishing fights where reading the enemy matters more than mashing. Just before an attack lands, an icon tells you how to respond — some attacks can't be dodged, some can't be parried, and some can't be blocked.
